  Lately I’ve found myself being drawn to the plight of corps members. Maybe it’s because I recently passed out of the scheme and I was able to experience its shortcomings and failures first hand. Whatever your view of NYSC is, the fact remains that is a necessary evil that every graduate has to face. I’m not here to bash the NYSC scheme; I think it was a great idea that got lost in translation as our society evolved. I want to address something that I find very worrisome amongst corps members. It is the lack of a solid game plan.

Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, others nominated for ‘Best African Act’ at the MOBO awards

  Several Nigerian stars have been nominated for the ‘Best African Act category’ for the 2014 MOBO Awards. Davido, Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, were the Nigerians nominated in the category which also includes Afrikan Boy, DJ Clock, Fuse ODG, Mafikozolo, and Mista Silva. At the 2013 edition of the awards, British musician of Ghanaian descent, Fuse ODG won the ‘Best African Act’ gong. Nigerian star, Davido, who has had an impressive outing in the awards season, would be hoping to win the MOBO plaque. The awards ceremony will be held in London at the SSE Arena, Wembley on 22 October.

The processing of the application should be completed not later than one month from the beginning of the new session. 2. Students who wish to change their degree programme should adhere to the Application procedure as indicated below. Application for change of Degree Programme should be completed within 2 weeks from the beginning of the session.

Two Nigerians caught with N1.5 billion at South African airport

  Two Nigerians and an Israeli are being investigated by South African police, after they tried to bring $9.3 million( N 1,517,760,000) in cash into the country illegally. According to the South African Revenue Service (SARS), the funds were seized at Lanseria airport, northwest of Johannesburg, on 5 September.
