A Legend Goes Home! Chinua Achebe buried in His Home Town, Ogidi in Anambra State The great literary genius  Chinua Achebe  was buried in his home town of Ogidi yesterday, 23rd May 2013. We remember him with fond memories. The life he lived, the stories he told and the principles he stood for. Professor Achebe died at the age of 82 in Boston, USA.

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life, she would be staying on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze, she thought about how wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting and she would have friends over soon. There will be sleepovers and parties. She was so happy. It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date!

                                        Growing up, I was a picky eater, but it didn’t drive my mother as crazy as my refusal to drink water. I simply didn’t see the point.  It was tasteless and boring. Why would I drink water when I could drink Fanta or nothing at all?                                       Professor Chinua Achebe’s passing, for some reason, has brought all these memories flooding back. These were men who lived for a legacy beyond them. It was not about fame and fortune. It was about doing the right thing for those that came behind.

The Faculty of Arts, led a procession for the late prof Albert Chinualumogu Achebe round the university environment. The procession was in honour of the great colossus of the arts. It had in attendance various lecturers from the faculty together with a great number of students from the faculty. The procession was tremendous as a second movement was declared. Not too much to ask for the great man, is it? Book exhibition for his studies still remains at 4pm at the university library and the night of tribute at 6:30pm at the arts theatre.

                          It's one of the most difficult situations we face in our life: letting go of an intimate relationship that has ended (for whatever reason).
