WHY I HATE SCHOOL AND LOVE EDUCATION

Discipline is a bridge between goals and accomplishments!
So you want a degree…….WHY?

Let me tell you what the society or your family will tell you--------It increases the chance of getting a job. It provides you an opportunity to be successful; your life will be less stressful……………EDUCATION IS THE KEY

NOW LET’S LOOK AT THE STATISTICS:

Steve Jobs---Net worth [$8.3 billion] {R.I.P}
Giorgio Armani---Net worth [$8.5 billion]
Richard Brandson----Net worth [$4.2 billion]
Bill gates-----------Net worth [$67 billion]
Mark Zuckerberg (founder, Facebook), Henry Ford, Orji Uzo Kalu (Slok group), Steven Spielberg, Thomas Edison (General Electric), Li Ka Shing, Cosmos Maduka (founder,Cosharis group)…….

Looking at these individuals…..
Non of these individual ever graduated from a higher learning institution. I know now some of you will protest like “Money is the only medium which one measures worldly success” some of you will even have the nerve to say that “I don’t do it for the MONEY”

To work for a charity--------------Need more clarity?

LET’S LOOK AT THE STATISTICS!!!!

Jesus, Mohammed, Socrates, Malcolm X, Michael Jackson, Sean Carter, Jesse Oven, Michael dell, Lawrence J. Ellison (CEO and co-founder, Oracle), Shakespeare, Mohammed Ali, Mary Kay Ash, Giorgio Armani

Was any of these people UNSUCCESSFUL OR UNEDUCATED?

All I am saying is that if there is a family tree, hard work and education will be related (twins), but school will be a very distant cousin.

Then if education is the key, then school is the lock!  Think!!!!!!

Cause it rarely develops your mind to the point where you can perceive red as green(creativity) and continue to go until someone else says stop…….cause as long as you follow the rules and pass exams, you are cool. But are you aware that examiners have a checklist and if your answer is something outside the box, the automatic response is a cross (X)…………………and they claim that school expands your horizon and vision.
Well tell that to Thomas Edison who was labeled dumb and scatterbrain by his school teachers but he went on to become one of the worlds greatest inventor and founded general electric, one of the most powerful companies in the world

OR

Orji Uzor Kalu who was rusticated from college for his participation in a student protest, started trading on palm oil grew it to the “Slok Group”

Proverbs 17:16(Good news bible) --------------“its does a fool no good to spend money on education, why because he has no common sense.

Education is about inspiring ones mind and not just filling their head and take this from me, coz I am an “educated man” who only came to this realization after countless night in the library with a can of redbull keeping me awake till dawn and another can in the morning. Falling asleep in between heaps of books, memorize equations, facts and data right down to the latter. Half of which I will never remember and half of which I would forget straight after the exam or before the new semester.

I often find myself running to class, just so as to find a spot on which I can rest my head and fall asleep without making a scene. Ironic!! right? Because that’s the only time I ever spend in the university chasing my dream, then after night with a dead mind, I find myself in a queue of half-awake students, zombies waiting to hand in an assignment, maybe that’s why they call it a deadline.

Note this, I am not saying that school is evil and there is nothing to gain. All I am saying is, understand your motive and re-evaluate your aim…..define your life path, because if you want a job working for someone else, then help yourself!!.... but that would be a contradiction, because you won't  be really helping yourself, you will be helping someone else.

There is a saying that say---“if you don’t build your dreams, someone else will hire you to help build theirs.

Redefine how you view education. Understand its true meaning. Education is not just about regurgitating facts from a book or someone else opinions on a subject to pass an exam.
Look at it……

Picasa was educated in create and art

Shakespeare was educated in the art of what was written

Colonel Arlin Sanders was educated in the art of creating Kentucky fried chicken.

Suru Ikenna was educated in the art of leadership(AIESEC).

Looking at David Beckham and his free kicks, there is more than one way in this world to be an educated man!

Expand your horizon…….instead of playing games, lying around at home doing nothing, you can create impact and also develop yourself.Use this long holidays to bring the world on your CV,take an AIESEC Global internship program, develop yourself and please don’t drop out of school but join AIESEC in school.

I will not let an exam result decide my fate!!

what's your conclusion?

So what you studying for?
