Economics Students rocks new building By Festus Iyorah (200-Level Mass communication student)
Students in the department of Economics yesterday thronged along the entrance of the new building, the new two-theatred building was shook to it's foundation with screech of excitement and chorus of laments, the vast majority of the students were happy about the availability of the new uncommissioned building '' ,but, there's still some stumps stopping their happiness
In the same vein, a brief interview with some of these students revealed their views towards the usage of the erection.
Diayne ,a second-year student of the same department said "we are very happy to be in our new building, at least it's still better than the old building," at the same time, she said there's still room for development in the building, because the chairs are not yet fixed."
Israel a second-year student from Economics said "Am happy to be here, but the only problem is the chairs are not fixed yet, and the theatres are not available for them, " we have lecture this afternoon, but the theatres are not available for us," the first-years and the finalist are the one's making use of it."
Martin a final-year student said "I feel comfortable after two years, "the new building was too small two years ago but am happy it can now contain more students."
A final year student who pleaded anonymity said "Am happy the building is now back to shape after two years of struggle ," we're using it for the meantime, before it is commissioned
Moreover, there's still room for development, the building is yet to be completed, Electrical installations are still invisible in the building, while some rooms are left unkempt.
According to a reliable source, lectures kick-started in the new building last week with an authority from the department,though the building is yet to be commissioned.
