PRESS RELEASE on the student laptop scheme: SUG PRESIDENT UNN @lionspot

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT SUG UNN PRESS RELEASE
In a meeting with the Director of ICT- Dr. Okeke, today Monday, 12th January, 2015, on the Laptop scheme currently being introduced to the first years, the following submissions were made by the SUG officials:

1. That the scheme is laudable & highly commendable;
2. That the scheme should be made optional, especially at this stage of its inception;
3. That there is need to re-visit the price, bearing in mind our population strength, and lastly;
4. That the period of payment should be extended to a minimum of two sessions.
It is our firm believe that if the last two submissions are adhered to, the scheme itself will ordinarily attract patronage without any need for enforcement.
Meanwhile, we hope to make this known to the Vice Chancellor tomorrow having not been able to see him today. We shall communicate his response thereafter.
